43342: Failed to start scheduler service

This is the event code message that I get but there is no solution listed in the knowwledge base:
Event Code: 0x00900020+0x0000FFF0+0x80070002

I am not sure how to get past this error, because I am unable to update to the latest release.

Bob,

Save your backup settings, move your existing backup files to another (hidden) directory on the same disk, use the clean up utiity http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876 to remove ATI (follow all instructions carefully. In particular, do not let the utility reboot your computer before you have completed the registry checks). Then reboot and reinstall ATI.
