Hello !

I've created an acronis bootable media on my Acronis PXE server with Acronis Master Image creator and Backup and recovery on it.

Acronis Master image creator is OK but Backup and revovery give me an "Unable to load initial ramdisk" error message follow by a "Kernel panic" message... on all pc that i've tested.

I have the same error when i create my rescue media on a ISO.

Why ?

Bizarre. Having heard and found nothing else about this problem I logged onto Acronis support and found a download under my products there for "bootable media" which was an iso file I burned to CD and this is now working.

I presume this is a known bug now fixed on the latest release.

Acronis Bootable Media downloaded from the weи site is base on different ISOLINUX loader.

ISOLINUX version of Acronis Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the website more frequently than regular product updates are released. In general, if there is any issue with booting working from the regular Acronis Bootable Media (based on Acronis Loader), it is recommended to try using the one based on ISOLINUX. Please see this article on how to download the necessary file.

Advanced work station 2010. Get msg "unable to load ramdisk" using boot CD. Downloaded ISO, burned and it loaded, but with version 2009. My serial number: **Serial number removed**. Was hoping that the newer version might have more functionality than 2009 plus My Os is Win 7/64bit. 2009 version cannot discern indivitual images of multiple harddrives from an archives(s) made with the Work Station version. I tried this on 2 Win 7/64bit computers.

I have the same problem. Also using the trial version of Acronis® Backup & Recovery™ 10 Workstation.

The bootable media is not available as listed in:
http://kb.acronis.com/content/4828 due to my trial status.

I have got the copy of acronis trial running from the ISO. It does not recognise the network on my machine. ( new Dell core I7, with Win 7 ).
I have transphered the image on a USB drive, now it is just sitting doing what appears to be nothing... Suggestions please ??

In case the ISO sent by Anton still fails to work on your machine, support will need to take a closer look at the issue. Could you please kindly obtain the following information: 

  1. Acronis Linux Report
  2. Acronis Info from the machine in question if possible

I just purchased Backup& Recovery 10 and I am getting the Unable to load initial ramdisk error when I make a bootable disk and then try to run it. I also am getting an Unable to load Linux kernel error after the first error.

The best way to proceed, would be to download the latest version of our bootable disk, please use this article for instructions.

If it still fails to work, please proceed the following way:

1. When booting from the disk, at the words Starting Acronis Loader press the F11 key.

2. After a few moments, you will be presented with a # prompt. Type /bin/product and press enter.

If the solution provided still fails to work, please get back to me with detailed description of what exactly happens, at what steps do you receive error message and what kind.

Is it possible to obtain additional support on acronis products e.g. 7*24, some SLA etc?
Coz eight hours w/o any reply is not a good idea for business-critical operations.

If you also give technical support with the trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2011, I would be very happy to hear from you. I can't test the software because of this "Initial Ramdisk"- and "Kernel Panic"-error. Can you also send me a link to a working bootable CD?

Hello Anton

Thanks for the link. I downloaded the boot manager, burnt the iso to cd and tried to boot. Right after the Acronis screen I got the usual "unable to boot initial ramdisk. Press enter to proceed" and then "kernel panic..."

So, no solution.

I am having Acronis True Image 11 Home with licence key.
I make a bootable CD from Bootable Rescue Media but its not successful.
As boot the CD for restoration, message is coming 'Load Initial Ramdisk'!!Please help me out of this shit as because I am completely stuck somewhere and its urgent!
As well let me which version shall I download in order to restore my computer.It may include trail version as well.

Dear Stephan, in case the updated media didn't help, we will need to take a closer look at the issue. Please gather Acronis Linux Report from the latest media and submit a support request with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Dear Anil, I regret to inform you that Acronis True Image Home 11 is an outdated product: it's not supported, developed or updated anymore. Thus in case the bootable media from your account didn't help, there's nothing else we can do. The situation requires investigation and Development team assistance, and since the product is outdated, we cannot forward the case to them.

As a workaround I can suggest you trying Acronis True Image Home 2011: you can find the bootable media here. We've changed the GUI a bit, so you may find our User's Guide useful.

Trial version can be considered full functional, though has its limitations, you can find them listed here.
