1) Very frustrated since I have been a user of Acronis either at work or home for at least a year and NOW running into this issue with my HOME system.
Purchased the latest ATIH 2010 yesterday. Loaded it onto my system which is running Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit.
Attached you will find a screen shot of the error.
Acronis starts up fine, select Back up, select backup location, named the image file with date, selected Normal priority, High compression and started the Back up. It looks like it's on it's way but then after 15 seconds BAM!!! the error in the screen shot appears. I did all of the recommended tasks from this thread and still getting the error. Have not done the backup by using the bootable CD though.
Now I had been using Acronis True Image Home 11 for at least a year with no problems until
last saturday when I went to start up Acronis 11 to do a backup image. Acronis would not even start and was giving the old "Failed to read sectors" error. Why this error after running fine for a year? By the way, the system I'm running this on is a system that has been restored with one of your back up images.
I did the following last Saturday:
Ran chkdsk three times
checked optimum performance on the destination drive
cleared the registry according to you all, then ran the newest Snapapi utility.
I was fed up and said: I will just purchase ATIH 2010 and woohoo the free plus pack.
I guess the screen shot attached can only express how I feel.
I basically am stuck between not being able to do new images and not being able to use any of my archived images. Why you may say? Because I don't trust the software. If I were to go back to my last image, how do I know ATIH 2010 will do it and if it doesn't I'm totally stuck then.
There have been posts with this same Error and there are no replies to them. If this issue cannot be resolved I will simply ask for a refund and just save off my important files to an external drive for safety, the old school way.
I am thinking about what might be causing this issue:
These errors have only started happening since I restored one of your images onto my system. Maybe ATIH 11 and 2010 cannot work properly on a restored image? Your product was working fine on all original machines doing backups but since I actually used a restore all this has happened on that machine. All original machines never showed errors.
