I have used Acronis True Image 2009 on my Windows XP PC without any problem since 2009 but having now changed and loaded onto a Windows 8 machine, I get the following message.
Error E000101F4. Detected unsupported hard disc drive. Does not support Windows dynamic disks, EZ- Drives etc.
and the programme will not run!
What do I need to do, upgrade to 2014,[is it possible to upgrade from 2009 to 2014] or do I just buy a new 2014 programme?
ZJ.

Hello Ziggi,

thank you for your posting!

Acronis True Image 2009 doesn't support Windows 8 and dynamic disks. If you want to use our software in your new environment you'll need to upgrade.

It is possible to upgrade to Acronis True Image 2014 from Acronis True Image 2009 Home and upgrade price is substantially smaller than the full one.

Please be aware that dynamic disk support is included in premium version only.

Thank you.

Hi Anna,
Thank yopu for your precise reply to my query.
Just to be clear, I can purchase an upgrade version of True Image Premium 2014 and load it onto my True Image 2009 basic version, and it will solve my problem of reading Dynamic disc.

Hello Ziggy,

it is not recommended to install Acronis True Image 2014 Premium over versions older than 2011. Please uninstall Acronis True Image 2009 first and then install Acronis True Image 2014 as it is described here.

Thank you.
