Operation Description missing in Backup Log

I had to re-create my Backup procedure and now the Operation Description is missing when I receive the Backup Log email after each backup. I cannot find a parameter in the Backup scheme for that, can anyone help?

Thanks,

Bill T.

I have the items Steve mentioned in his reply in my Notifications. On the 2nd line below from my backup email received after my backup runs, is what is now missing, the "Operation description" line is no longer there.

Bill, welcome to these public User Forums.

When you open the Options for your backup task and go to the Notifications page, click on the link to show extended settings which will show you how the Subject line for the emails is set by default.  At the end of the Subject line, click on the (?) to show help information.

My subject line contains:
%COMPUTER_NAME% - %BACKUP_NAME% - %OPERATION_STATUS%

Bill, we look to be mixing issues here.  The settings per my last post above are for those shown only in the Subject line for email messages sent via the Notifications option of a task.  Those settings do not influence the contents of the email taken from the logs created by ATI.

I see mails as per the image below:

If you want to see more details log information, then please download the MVP Log Viewer tool (link in my signature below) and use this to review the log file for your backup operation. This should provide more information on why you are seeing any notification messages?

I am sure I am making matters more confusing Steve. The main issue (and honestly not a big one) is that when I receive the email, after the backup is done, the line I referenced above (the Operation Description) is no longer in the email on one of my backups. I had a problem of some sort with that backup and had to re-create the Backup profile. I then noticed that the one line no longer appeared in the backup email. It still is there in other backups I did not need to recreate.

The backup runs okay and I have compared every parameter in both the profile that does have the line and the one that does not and I see no differences.

As I said, I don't think is a big problem but I just can't understand why the description line is now missing.

I appreciate your help and patience with me on this,

Bill.

Bill, the best I can tell you is that Acronis dropped the use of 'Operation description' in the logs for all later versions of ATI.  I just checked some logs from ATI 2018, 2019 & 2020 and all just say Operation followed by the task name, so guess this is what you are seeing for the recreated task whereas the other tasks have been carried forward from an older version.

Thanks Steve, I kind of suspected something like that. The Backups I run have been in place for several years. It was only because one of them got corrupted (the scheme itself) that I had to recreate it. The 2 that were not re-created still show the description. I am a 40+ year IT Vet who has been retired for 11 years but oddities like this still bother me.

I appreciate your help.

Bill
