2020 Images corrupted

Since upgrading to 2020 first thing I noticed is it is much slower, but the bigger issue that I just found out the hard way. Images created by booting with the Survivor Image drive, creating a New Image of my PC and it appears to work just find as it did in 2019, completed with no errors. Now I found out the hard way when I booted with that Survivor drive all the Images created with 2020 are corrupted and won't even open. I've lost Terabytes of data because of this! I boot each week off that drive and manually create of Library of sorts of my PC, then if I need to restore the PC to an earlier time I have a clean complete Image of my PC. The 2019 Images are just fine. It's NOT the drive itself, I just spent a lot of time by testing to another drive same results, and making a bootable USB thumb drive and Imaging that way, so results. Uninstalled 2020 and re-installed 2019 and everything works just fine. 2020 is NOT

I have this same issue. Every backup I have made with Acronis 2020, even after updating to the latest version 38530 is corrupted and will not open. Fortunately, I found this out in testing and not in production. I will be sticking with Acronis 2018 and eventually switch to some other solution of this issue is not corrected. I wasted money on a 5 pc license.

Richard,
Two things, first, please create a new thread for new posts in old topics. Not doing so results in your post getting buried in the Forum and you risk not getting an answer.
Second. the most common problem for your issue of backup file corruption is that of existing disk corruption on either the source disk or/and the target disk being restored to. The recommendation is that chkdsk be ran on all disk partitions (even hidden (non-lettered) ones) prior to creating backups and/or running restore attempts. In your case I would suspect corruption exists on the Survival Kit disk and running chkdsk on all the the partitions on that disk should fix the problem.

I have tried Acronis 2020 on 3 computers with the same result on each. Two were new installations strictly for testing and chkdsk found no issues on any of the computers. I have had zero success whether I used .tib, .tibx, on secure zone, external drive, and another internal drive backup.

Richard, sorry but yours is not a typical experience for the other users here but is definitely one which is of concern to us all!
Please can you expand on your original statement above:
Every backup I have made with Acronis 2020, even after updating to the latest version 38530 is corrupted and will not open.
When you create a backup, does it report as being successful on completion?
How are you trying to open the backup image?
What type of backup are you creating? Disks & Partitions or Files & Folders?
If you are attempting to open an ATI 2020 .tibx backup image using your ATI 2018 rescue media or another PC using that version, then it will always report the 2020 .tibx files as being corrupt because all older versions have no ability to open and work with .tibx files!

I found part of the problem. I was attempting to validate with the bootable media created by the Acronis 2020 installed on the computer - both the Linux based and Windows based. If I create a bootable media using the downloaded iso, all my test backups verify and I am able to perform restores. I don't know if the downloaded msi was bad or if Windows messed up the installation, or there was a bug in the Acronis installation on the test computer, but I now know a solution.

Richard, thanks for the update and glad that you have found a solution.
I would recommend downloading the latest build installer for ATI 2020 #38530 and doing a Repair install in Windows on your PC. See KB 60915: Acronis True Image: repairing program settings - for details.
