Drive Monitor found false problem with card reader (for camera cards)

Today I used the card reader on my ASUS Vista computer for the first time (I've had the computer for about 3 years). Normally my husband deals with photos on his Mac. By mistake I jammed the XD card into the slot (my husband thinks I am heavy handed). I adjusted this and I was able to download the photos. However, the Drive Monitor showed a red warning and alerted me that there was a critical issue with a drive. I looked in the Device Manager, but everything worked fine. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for the card slot. I could not find any warning in the Events log, that referred to this issue. I booted and rebooted. I even deleted in the Drive Monitor the box, which reports on Events. I ticked it again after a reboot. The Drive Monitor relented and it is now stating, that there is no problem. However, when I tried the one click Acronis Backup, I get a box warning me, that there is a problem and I should send you an email (which did not work). I had to go to the normal Acronis 2011 (Upgrade) Menu and do my Backup from there (which worked fine). At the moment I cannot use the one click Backup. The box with the warning is in front of it and when I close it, the Backup Box disappears as well. I could not find a solution for this problem in the Forum. Thanks for any assistance. Helga

You might want to edit this thread and move it to the TIH forum, where more people will see it.

What build of 2011 are you using?

Does normal imaging still work?

What do you mean by 'upgrade menu' ?

If you are using Vista or Windows 7 could you post some screen snips of what you are seeing?

Hi Colin, I am sorry, but I am using the 2010 version and the latest update. The message comes up in a box on my desktop (when I click on the Acronis One-Click Backup icon). I tried Print screen and it did not work. However, this is the message:
Internal error
Please contact Acronis support team for information on how to resolve this issue.
To provide our support team with a complete description of the issue, click Details, then click the icon above the description in the open field. It will copy the issues details to the Clipboard.
The open field has the icon and underneath (0x0) and underneath again Tag = 0x0.
When I click on the icon nothing happens and I also cannot send an email as requested.
I would be happy to move the post, but I am not so sure, where I should move it to.

Are you able to make manual images?

Have you tried a repair install of TI 2010?

Hi Colin, thanks for trying to help me. I am not sure, what you mean by manual images. I normally use Print Screen, but I found that I could not click on anything, while I had the message on my screen. I have meanwhile uninstalled TIH 2010 and reinstalled it and it works fine. I am still wondering, whether I should install the Drive Monitor again. Helga
