My old computer is crashing, but I have it backed up on an external drive using Acronis 2017. Can I restore on a new similar computer (same make/model, same SSD & HDD, same memory, etc)?

Thanks in advance.

Durago, in principle the answer to your question is Yes but there may be other differences you need to take into consideration.

If your old computer using Legacy BIOS boot then this will need to be migrated to UEFI BIOS boot which Acronis can handle automatically provided the Acronis rescue media is booted in that UEFI boot mode on the new computer.

You may also need to create and use the Acronis Universal Restore boot media << AFTER >> restoring your old computer Backup image to the new computer.  AUR will attempt to resolve any issues with device driver differences between the two systems.  Note: you may need any driver disks that are provided with the new computer or made available via the makers web site.
