My new Iomega Prestige 1TB USB external drive came pre-formatted as a single NTFS partition. It seems to work fine for backing up files, and Windows XP Disk Management recognizes the partition and its properties as expected. But in Acronis Disk Director 10 the partition is shown with an error "X" in the upper left, and the description reads "TYPE - FS: NONE PARTITION: 0x7 (NTFS, HPFS)." It does report the partition size properly.
I deleted the partition via ADD, and when I went to create a new one ADD didn't even offer NTFS as an option. So I (quick) re-formatted in Windows Disk Management instead, which went fine. But in ADD that just put me right back to where I started.
Any ideas what is going on, and suggestions? As I said the drive seems to be working fine -- but the strange situation with ADD has me uncomfortable with it.
