I recently had a drive catastrophe caused by the town's shady non-Otaku, but smelly, wannabe tech formatting designated data drive and proceeding to install Windows. The result was loss of data because that drive had all the backups and the wannabe tech also formatted the previous C:, but I believe he used a wipe utility to do so.
I'm looking for suggestions for capable applications that can restore Acronis true image files without fail. I've attempted to use R-Studio for this, but it appears the potentially is a bug causing injection of data to recovered files that is not supposed to be there causing the file to be corrupt. Details on that here:
As mentioned in my R-Studio forum post I know there are Acronis fies to recover because the file signatures are there. I'm looking for an alternative because my patience with R-Studio has grown thin while a potential bug is resolved.
Any suggestions? I prefer OS compatibility in this order:
I'm not wiling to pay for subscription utilities that have an annual cost. I've also tried photorec without success.
