I downloaded a trial version of True Image 2013, installed it and want to uninstall it.

Am running Win 7x64. I do not see it in the list of programs that is in Control Panel - Programs and Features.

I did see something for Acronis Sync and removed it.

I checked the Help that came with the program. It says:

If you use Windows 7, select Start -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program -> True Image 2013 -> Uninstall. Then follow the instructions on the screen. You may have to reboot your computer afterwards to complete the task.

This option does not exist for Win 7.

The program should be listed in the Program & Features under T.
If you restart the downloaded install program,
I believe you will find an uninstall option there--if I remember correctly.

Indeed, running the installer again will present 3 options - repair, modify and uninstall.

Bluescreen! Lost half a week of work, thanks to a 4 day old backup.

I did exactly the same: the standard win7 procedure for removing a program. Got an error about ATIH Uninstaller failing to respond. Went to their Knowledge Base 34876 for this and downloaded acronis' tool to completely uninstall it. Followed all instructions but deactivating the Startup Recovery Manager (impossible because ATIH was already uninstalled mostly).

Rebooted. Starting Windows. Blue firebugs start dancing. Freeze. Bluescreen. Again. same. again. same.

Called Acronis tech support. Get windows original disks and reinstall to a new partition, and start recovering files one by one. and, to quote, "you should have called us prior to uninstalling Acronis 2013."

For future reference, Secure Zones and Acronis Recovery Manager should be disabled prior to uninstalling True Image, if there is still a problem, boot from a True Image recovery CD/USB stick and try activating and deactivating which ever utility has been previously used.

In most cases this solves the problem, and then from within Windows the Acronis Cleaner can be run to clear up any registry remnants if required.

Trying to do this from within Windows can cause problems if the uninstall hasn't gone smoothly.
