How to convert TIB backups to VHD format?

In Acronis 2014, I can convert .tib files to .vhd (Windows backups) and vice-versa. Also, several other 3rd party products only read .vhd files, such as Laplink's PcMover. VHD files can also be used directly within Virtual Machines.

Will this capability (Tools menu) be added back in 2016?

Are there any reliable alternatives?

Acronis told us on a webniar that they consider to reintroduce the converter in ATIH 2016 which then would be also able to convert into VHDX (more stable and much more performant). However that are just plans. No release for the reintroduction is given yet.
