How to browse and restore single file from old TIB file

I have inherited a setup which involves at least ten external USB-based hard drives each labelled with a year. Supposedly on the "2013" drive are the file(s) that I need. Mounting the drive I can see that a particular folder includes files like: \May\DATA-Weekly1.tib (approximately 4GB in size)
What I need to do is to restore one or more files from this backup. I attempted to download the trial version of Acronis Backup 12 in order to do this. I go to the HTTP-based interface, having installed the service locally on my workstation.
If I choose the BACKUPS option in the left menu and then the Browse option in the middle of the screen I can then identify the place where I copied that TIB file: D:\Acronis\2013\May/DATA-Weekly1.tib
If I now double-click on that entry (on the right side of the screen) I then have options to delete it or to Show Backups. The latter option indicates "No backups". So I take it that I'm not doing this correctly.
Activities doesn't allow me to restore anything, it appears to be a log.
Choosing Devices and selecting the RECOVER button next to my own computer indicates that there are no backups of the selected devices in the known locations.
Is there any way of doing this (restoring a file from an old backup)?

Justin,
One more possible way is to use the bootable media of Acronis Backup, i.e. boot some virtual machine from the .iso which contains bootable media, then browse your .tib files over network and perform files/folders recoveries from it. The bootable media is more likely to recognize old backup archives (even from officially unsupported versions) than the installed product.
Thank you.

Unfortunately, I've just attempted to create bootable media and it's failing. It doesn't matter if I select Linux-like or Windows-like in the first option nor the destination media.

I can confirm then that AB12 isn't compatible with this older file since I'm in Explorer and have attempted to drill into the DATA-Weekly1.tib file and there is no content.

Justin, the error on the screen shot looks like installation-related issue, i.e. there is (was) some Acronis product installed on the machine which traces are left and thus Media Builder wasn't installed properly. The easiest way to proceed would be to download the .iso of the bootable media from your Acronis account (it's a "recovery-only" media and it's available for everyone) or from the link below:
http://dl2.acronis.com/u/AcronisBackup12/Release/Boot_media.iso
P.S. if recovery still doesn't work then please contact our support team for further investigation.
Thank you.

Not sure if this is useful but I found an ISO image on the installation disc for Acronis True Image 2011 called /BootCD/ATIH2011_en-US.iso. I've booted from this using the first option to bring up the interface. If I try to browse into a TIB file from one server it appears to open up. If I try to browse into any of the files from the target drive, however, it gives the error "Cannot open backup archive on the specified device. Either there is no archive on it or the archive is corrupted."
I've tried using the USB-based drive locally to the machine that's booting from your CD image. I've also tried mounting it on another computer and using your bootup software to fetch it over the network. Either way is the same error message. Perhaps the 2011 version of the server is earlier than the one in question...?
I'll try again from your suggested version 12.

I just booted from the ISO link you provided and it appears to ultimately give two options: 1) Turn off or 2) Reboot. "Bootable Backup Agent". Not sure but I don't think this is what we're looking for...
The interface is a little weird, to be honest. I chose the "Manage this PC locally" option. And then there's an interface which includes a Restore option.
In theory, then, this is at least allowing me to browse the backup contents. Unfortunately for me, the previous I.T. guy didn't select the EMAIL share folder which is the targetted file(s) which were needed here. Not much else that I can do at this point.

Raphael wrote:AB12 installs a Windows Explorer Tool which allows you to browse TIB files directly, like you browse a folder. If you can open the TIB you should be able to restore single folders/files from it.
I think that's a "future" feature. The current release did NOT do that when I upgraded from 11.x. I have no way to view those files in explorer like I did before.

It seems that the "Agent for Windows" must be installed and a user re-login is requiered.
