New Customer - Setting Up VMWare Backups

Thread needs solution

I'm in the process of purchasing Acronis to replace our outgoing system. So far I'm pretty impressed and haven't had any issues. However, when trying to setup a VMWare client, I'm running into some issues.

I'm trying to add my VCenter box and when I do, I go in and specify the hosts I want to install it on. This is the start of the problem. If I pick just a one-off one, it will just ignore any of the settings I've selected and just start throwing it on every host in the environment (we have other sites I'm not doing backups on). If I pick the 5 hosts it's supposed to be on, it'll build the first VM, shut it down, boot it back up, and then it just fails. So far I have yet to get one completely successful. When it fails, it gives the same error every time. That error is this:

cid:b930e6c7-190a-490c-96b0-36d6361efc3c

And the details are this:

I can ping the DNS names and IPs just fine. I’ve disabled IPv6 as I see that could cause an issue based on a KB article. Now I’m stuck. Any thoughts?

I might have figured this one out. It finally passed the first VM creation, didn't shut it down, and moved on to building the next. Turns out this apparently is dependent on the FQDN - I was using the shortened name.
