Do you restore this disk to the same VM?
Yes. But hyper-v to.
Example: Hyper-v is dead. Install OS, set old IP and restore from backup system disk C.
You can select the original location only when recovering to the original machine.
How ?
I don't want restore full machine with virtual disk, i want restore some folders local disk C in virtual machine.
But I can't do that. Access denied. Photo attached in the first message.

Hello Andrey.

You can restore files to the machine that originally contained the files only if an agent is installed on this machine. Please read the respective chapter in the User's Guide for more details. As I understood, in your case you back up the VMs with Agent for Hyper-V installed on the host.
Example: Hyper-v is dead. Install OS, set old IP and restore from backup system disk C.
For this purpose, you need to have a respective Agent for Windows/Linux installed into this VM.
When you back up your VMs at the hypervisor level, only separate files/folders or the entire hyper-v machine can be recovered. The Agent reads the data from the virtual disk files and the VM configuration and copies it to the .tib file. Thus, the VMs disks/volumes cannot be recovered separately.
