Dear Acronis Customers,

I'm happy to let you know that the Acronis Backup & Recovery product line has been renamed and the licensing policy has been simplified.

Key changes:

1) Acronis Backup & Recovery “Standalone Version” becomes  => Acronis Backup product family for smaller environment:

  •     Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Server for Windows becomes => Acronis Backup 11.5 for Windows Server;
  •     Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Server for Linux becomes => Acronis Backup 11.5 for Linux Server;
  •     Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Advanced Server SBS Edition becomes => Acronis Backup 11.5 for Server Essentials;
  •     Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Workstation becomes =>  Acronis Backup 11.5 for PC;
  •     Acronis vmProtect becomes = > Acronis Backup for VMware  for smaller environments.

Starting from Update 3 for Acronis Backup (build #38573) Universal Restore add-on is included into the main license.

It means you need to use only base license in Update 3 or later - you will not a need separate Acronis Universal Restore license. If you had a separate license for Universal Restore, you simply install new build and keep using the product successfully with the feature enabled. If you did not have a separate license for Acronis Universal Restore, you will have this functionality automatically included after you install Update 3.

  •     Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Advanced Server for Linux becomes => Acronis Backup Advanced for Linux Server
  •     Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Advanced Workstation becomes => Acronis Backup Advanced for PC

If you had a separate license for Universal Restore and/or Deduplication, you simply install new build and keep using the product successfully with the features enabled. If you did not have a separate license for Acronis Universal Restore and/or Deduplication, you will have this functionality automatically included after you install Update 3.
