Backup To Cloud Functionality

Hi there,

Apologies if the following is obvious - had a search but couldn't find anything.

I understand that the first backup to cloud will be a full backup, in may case about 250gb. I have selected incremental thereafter.. my question relates to when the next Full Backup is taken as I'll need to time this outside of working hours. If I restrict the backup to 7 days history will the Full backup take place at the same time each week (i.e. the weekend)? Or are the incremental backups amalgamated online to save having to move 250gb each week? I don't really want a string of incremental backups indefinitely.

Thanks.

Jack.

In cloud backup consolidation is performed on the server side, so in your case on the 7-th day the full will be merged with the first incremental. Client always upload only incremental backups after the initial full.

 - Fedor this is also true for Backup-as-a-Service?

 - For hybrid backup (local and cloud), ho consolidation si performed? Locally and then online?

 - Also true for encrypted backup?

Tnx for your time

It's true for Backup-as-a-Service too.

For backup with replication to cloud, not sure, IIRC, consolidation on the local location is performed before consolidation on the cloud. Is the order affects your use case?

It's also true for encrypted backup.

The order at the moment it's only my curiosity.
