Acronis Managed Machine Service is unavailable ERROR

Thread needs solution

I just installed Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 onto a Windows XP machine. Once it finished, a red triangle with a white exclamation point popped up in the notification area of the task bar. When hovered over, a box pops up that says "Acronis Managed Machine Service is unavailable".

I did some research on this error, and thought I found the solution, but I was wrong. I have gone to RUN>SERVICES.MSC and tried to start AMMS manually, but an error popped up that said "Could not start the Acronis Managed Machine Service service on Local Computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start." I checked and all the dependency services say "started" next to them, except Protected Storage. When I right click this, I am unable to click "Start" because it is grayed out. I'm not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, when I try to start Acronis Backup and Recovery 10, I get the following error:

Code:  11,337,731(0xAD0003)
LineInfo: 0x90FB8A255B1DF657;

Message: Error: Failed to establish local connection to Acronis Managed Machine Service. Make sure that the service is installed and its status is Started.

Also, when I try to start Acronis Backup and Recovery 10, I get the following error:

It has the same root cause - it has nothing to connect to because MMS service failed to start because Protected Storage can't be started. Is there someone else who could disable it (domain admin?) Does it have startup type:'disabled' in its properties?

It does have startup type:'disabled' in the properties. I enabled it and it works now, thanks! (I didn't even realize that was there)
