Dear support,

I've got a strange problem with Backup&Recovery 10. I've installed the software on 3 servers but only 1 server got issues . (Win2003 x86)

When I for the first time create a new Backup plan and run it, the job is running fine. So far so good, but when I run the job for the second time I get the the following error (see also the attachments)

Hello Albert,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

Please do the following to resolve the issue:

1) Go to Start -> Run -> services.msc
Right-click on the following Acronis services, and click on Restart:

- Acronis Managed Machine Service;
- Acronis Remote Agent;
- Acronis Scheduler2 Service.

2) Manually cleanup the content of the following folder:C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts

3) Delete the present backup plan.

4) Restart Acronis scheduler:

- Download a special Acronis utility;
- Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;
- Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:

schedmgr task zap
schedmgr service stop
schedmgr service uninstall
schedmgr service install
schedmgr service start

5) Create a new backup plan and see if the issue remains.

Thank you.

I am unable to backup data. The following is the error message: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<log build="325" product="Acronis Scheduler" uuid="12A317F6-C8E7-4BB6-B8A9-893550466015" version="1.0">
<event code="1326" id="1" level="4" message="Scheduler unable to run the task "My Data Backup1" with GUID A8122EEE-7550-4928-9B2A-358333449403 because of the error 1326 (Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password)" module="9" time="1250805602" type="4" />
</log>
I have updated, I think, read and followed "ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE ERRORS OUT WITH CODE 1326" directive, reinstalled Acronis True Image Home 2009, and all with no results. I have a backup program that won't backup. Any help with this matter will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Charlie

Hello charlie,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

There are three possible causes:

  1. User account, under which you are trying to run the scheduled task, does not have enough rights to perform the operation;
  2. The scheduled task was created under user account different from the one under which you are trying to execute the task manually at the moment;
  3. The scheduling service is running not under Local System account.

Solution

  1. Make sure the user, under which you trying to run the scheduled task, is a member of the Administrators group:
    1. Click Start ->Run;
    2. Type in compmgmt.msc and hit Enter;
    3. In the Computer Management window click Local Users and Groups -> Users;
    4. Right-click the user under which you are trying to run the task and select Properties. Click the Member Of tab. The Administrators group should be in the Member of list;
    5. If the user account is not a member of the Administrators group, add the account to the group:
      1. On the Member Of tab, click Add;
      2. In the Select Groups window type in Administrators;
      3. Click Check Names;
      4. Click OK.
  2. Make sure you are trying to execute the task manually under the same user account it was created;
  3. Make sure the Acronis scheduling service is running under Local System account:
  • Click Start -> Run;
    • Type in services.msc and hit Enter;
    • In the Services (Local) window right-click the Acronis Scheduler2 Service line;
    • Select Properties;
    • In the new window click the Log On tab;
    • Under Log on as select Local System account;
    • Click OK.

Thanks for the reply. One of my attempts to make Acronis True Image run was to follow the Knowledge Base article, which had the same instructions as your reply. I repeated the instructions, but no luck. Any further help will be appreciated. The error message is shown in the attached file.

Hello Charlie,

Thank you for your response.

Do you have a password to login to Windows? If not, please temporally assign a password to the account under which you use Acronis True Image, recreate the task using the new credentials and see if the issue remains.

Please keep us informed.

Thank you.

I have the same problem with a windows 2003 server with active directory, and trying to backup scheduled task to a network drive out of the domain.

When I try to run schedmgr task zap I get an access denied error.

What can I do?

thanks in advance.

The problem is similar to those above but I need a more specific solution. I have no problems running a full Acronis backup to one of my external Hard Drives. However, when I try to do a daily incremental backup, I get a statement that says that the back up completed with errors. The error is named Logon Failure: Unknown user name or bad password.

Is there a way that I can enter the user name and password I used to get into this forum into my backup program to make it work properly?

Hello all,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

Jordi,

Make right-click on schedmgr.exe file and select Run as Administrator.

Bob,

The program requires Windows authorization for a scheduled task execution. That is why you should enter your account name and password both to let the program log in to Windows with Administrator's rights and execute a scheduled task.

I would recommend to check the users' rights:

1) Local Security Settings -> User Rights Assignment -> Check Security setting for Backup files and directories (Administrators,Backup Operators).

2) - Go to Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Users and Groups->Users;
- Right click on the user you logged-in and choose "Properties" option;
- Go to Member Of ;
- Check if Administrators and Backup Operators are listed;
- If not: Add -> Issue "Administrators" (without quotes) -> click OK, Add -> "Backup Operators"(without quotes) and click OK.

You should perform the above operations on the computers with the Agent installed.

Thank you.

Hi,

I have similar problems, I get error 1326 as well. I reviewed and tested the official recommendations, but they did not work.

- I have administrator rights with the user.

- I am using the user account that the task was created with (and: yes, I do use a password on the account).

- I am working in the local system account.

I am very open to further suggestions on resolution of this issue. Also, after having spent so much time on figuring out how this program actually works that I am starting to wonder whether it is worth the money invested!!!

Thanks.

All the money invested in programam is money lost. I am Spanish and I have no number where to call. The program cost me 630 € and I could not use it. The Cobian Backup is free and gives no errors of credentials.

The software does not work

The images from ABR10 are not compatible with TI 10, nor are TI 10's readable by ABR10

Hello Oleg... I follow your instructions in post #1.

The problem in my post #9 was a bad file download, I dowloaded again and get the following:

1) Go to Start -> Run -> services.msc
Right-click on the following Acronis services, and click on Restart:

- Acronis Managed Machine Service;
- Acronis Remote Agent;
- Acronis Scheduler2 Service.

Everything of point 1 goes ok, the only thing that happen is when I restart Scheduler2 service, windows ask me to restart also Managed Machine Service

2) Manually cleanup the content of the following folder:C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts

This folder is empty, ok.

3) Delete the present backup plan.

There's no backups plan, ok.

4) Restart Acronis scheduler:

- Download a special Acronis utility;
- Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;
- Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:

schedmgr task zap

This run ok, no errors

schedmgr service stop

error, I supose that he has dependendies on Managed machine, I go to services.msc and stop it manually.

schedmgr service uninstall

This works ok for me.

schedmgr service install

This also works ok.

schedmgr service start

When we run this, we get an error. I supose another dependencies problem, and I try to run it from services.msc, but I get another error also.

I try to restart server, but the service does'nt start. scheduler service neither managed machine service works. Only Agent service is running.

Seems to be a version of the file, I have spanish version of the SW from acronis. When I try to run new Scheduler Service, it told me application path not found.

5) Create a new backup plan and see if the issue remains.

I cant run Acronis. Please I need a solution, to much money, to much time, NO SOLUTION!... please help.

Thank you.

Here is what worked for me:

1. Run all three services with log on account instead of local systems account. For account name I used .\[account name]

2. In setting up the back up I used the same user name with .\ in front of it. Worked like a charm.
