Hi,

I'm running vmProtect 8 and I'm trying to backup my Windows Server 2008 R2 machine but it wont work.
I get this error:

I don't know what the problem is, if it's the machine itself or if it's something with vmProtect. I have a Windows Server 2012 on the same host and I can make a backup of that one without any problems.

Hello PatricF,

Thank you for posting your question in our forum.

In most situations it is very useful to reinstall the VMware Tools on the affected machine. Also please check the VMware logs to ensure, that the snapshot itself is done correct. Please check this article to see, how to check the correct settings for the virtual guest system.

If this does not help, please contact support. See more information about this process in our Customer Handbook.

If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.
