Hi all, I have a problem to convert MBR to GPT with the Acronis media boot. When I navigate to the disk I can delete the Volumes of the disk without problems, but when I try to convert the disk to GPT, it look that the tool works, but when I want to recover an image (UEFI gpt) the converted disk does not appear. Has anyone what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance

Hello Encarna,

welcome to Acronis forums!

If I understood you correctly, you do not see GPT volume after restoring a disk backup onto the UEFI machine.

First of all, please make sure that you selected the correct Boot mode when creating Acronis Bootable Media.

Please also share here the recovery log of this operation (Overview -> Activities, select the failed recovery operation, click on Show details -> Download log).

Thank you for your response. But maybe I did not explain correctly.

When I navigate to the hard disk in Boot media, I have the option to convert a disk from MRB to GPT. But when I do this, I can not restore any disk image because the boot media does not see the disk.

It is like the Boot Media does not finished the work of convert to GPT.

If I convert the disk from Windows, then the boot media recognize a GPT disk, but not if I do it from Acronis boot media.

Hello Encarna.

Thanks for the clarification.

When I navigate to the hard disk in Boot media, I have the option to convert a disk from MRB to GPT. But when I do this, I can not restore any disk image because the boot media does not see the disk.

What if you boot in Windows after conversion from MBR to GPT - how is this disk recognized in Windows (as MBR or GPT)?

Good question,  Iwill do it tomorrow.

Hi,  this is the disk after a GPT conversion from Acronis boot media. It is not posible work with the disk... It is necessary to convert it again with Acronis boot media to MRB, and then convert to GPT with Windows...

I want to say that from Navigate/Disk management of the boot media, it is possible to see the disk, but not to install an image.

Hello Encarna,

thanks for providing additional details.

I strongly recommend that you contact Acronis Support Team for this issue investigation.

It would be better to share a link to this forum thread with support engineers.

You will be required to collect the following data:

- a video of how you perform the conversion from MBR to GPT when booted from Acronis Bootable Media;

- Acronis System Information collected from Acronis Bootable Media right after this conversion;

- Acronis System Information from the same machine collected when booted in Windows after the conversion.

Please upload all these diagnostic data onto an FTP link that I've sent you in a private message which you should also share with support engineers.
