I have got an big issue with restoring files from tape.
The restore process is taking a lot of time.
The Support team is already involved, they get all logs but the answers are meagre.
What about your experience with restoring from tape?

From beginning:
I am using an HP DL380 Gen10 with 5 SSDs Raid5 configured.
To the server there is an HPE LTO1/8 G2 LTO7 tape connected via SAS Controller E208e-p SR Gen10 (I think).
Acronis Cyper Backup Advanced Version 15 Build-Nr. 27009

I configured an backup jobs with about 20 files (Acronis tibx files) and some TXT Files.  600GB Files
The backupplan File Backup takes less than 1hour.

The first restore (immediatly after backup) is very fast !

After I restart the server the same restore is taking very very log time - maybe 1MB / min.
I need about 6 hours for an 8GB File.

I also created a server fullbackup to tape.
- The restore from tape booting with USB Stick took 24hours - Backup 20GB.  The tape is showing seeking!
I mad an restore from RDX - it tooks about 30min.  very fine.

In addition I made tests wit other software called "iperius backup".
The backup and restore process is normal - also after reboot the server.

The HPE Support checks the tape an changed the tape drive - Everything fing noting found.

What are your experince with restore from tape - What times do you have.
Are your satisified with tape restore process?

Hello Uwe,

Welcome to Acronis forums!

I recommend that you continue investigating this issue with Acronis Support Team. However, I should note that the current build 27009 has problems with slow read operation (restore/replication and export) from tapes. The fix is ready and that it´s expected to be available with Update 3 next week.

Dear Maria,
thank you a lot.

I get no answer from the ACRONIS Support Team unfortunatly.
The issue is about 8 weeks open.
Sure - you will find my ticket [05092497].

There is no reply past 10days.   Incredible.

It is also particularly annoying that the support team requests the collection and transmission of vast amounts of data by default, which is extremely time-consuming without then holding out the prospect of a solution to the problem, according to the motto, keep the customer busy, or, as in the case above, let's go underground.

I totally agree.
Sure - some simple problems should be checked without customer.

In addition I get some changing dlls and storage-node.exe,
It seems that these are helping. I have to rescan the tapes, which need now some time.
