How to access my disk image backup

Thread solved

Several months ago, I used Acronis to take a disk image backup of my old Win 10 laptop. I used that backup to copy files to my new Win 11 laptop.

Now I need to go look for a couple of files in that backup, but I can't remember what it is called or even what the filetype is. Can someone help me locate that disk image backup file and then browse it for the files I need?

Thanks

Hello,

Welcome to our forum.

Our backup files always end up in .tib/.tibx format. It's crucial to have access to the location where these backups are stored; otherwise, recovering the data won't be possible. Ensure that the location exists, and the data hasn't been deleted.

Afterward, you'll need to reinstall the program on the new machine. This will enable you to open the .tib file in Windows Explorer or add the backups directly in the console: https://kb.acronis.com/content/60918

Best regards.

Thank you. I found it. It is a .tibx file. It was on the USB drive. I thought I had copied it to the C-drive, but I see now that it's pretty big (300 GB), so I must have decided to leave it on the USB drive.

Anyway, I found the files I needed. Thank you for the quick reply.
