Why does Acronis Active Protection service keep enabling itself after it's been disabled?

I don't use this product (formally ATI) purely for backup, so I don't need any other features. I've disabled them all within the app, but "AcronisActiveProtectionService" keeps running.

More annoyingly is that if you disable this service, acronis will re-enable it!

How do I stop this service from running that I don't need?

Just to clarify, I'm only asking how to permanently stop this service, nothing more.

A straight forward answer is you cannot fully stop that as you're using a fully fledged anti-virus suite as Aconis intended it to be that way.

I see. So not only has a backup solution changed into a cyber attack prevention, but it's forced upon you. This is the information I need to know when I cancel my subscription. Thanks.

Dear John,
sorry to know that you had faced difficulties with the service! I've passed your feedback to the product management for review.
