Disk Director 12.5 will not install

Disk Director 12.5 will not install. Fresh install, no other versions of Disk Director installed previously.

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit on Dell XPS 13.

After entering licence key, installation folder and user details, then clicking on 'Proceed', I'm greeted with a dialog box claiming that 'Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one.'

I've tried re-starting the installation process, re-downloading the install package, re-booting the PC and verifying through Windows Task Manager that no other installation process (from Acronis or elsewhere) is running, all to no avail.

In addition, I have the exact same problem trying to install 'Acronis Universal Restore Bootable Media Builder'.

Both of these packages were bundled in with a recent purchase of Acronis True Image 2019 upgrade, which installed and runs quite happily!

Anyone have any clues as to why the two 'bonus' applications refuse to install?

Thanks!

Martin, you may need to whitelist the installer in your AV program (just in case).  If that doesn't help, go into %temp% and delete everything out of there (old files could prevent a current install with Acronis).

If all else fails, I would run the Acronis cleanup tool (right-click and run as administrator even if logged in as administrator) to clean out all Acronis products.  REBOOT when it's done.  I would personally install and run CCleaner after that to clean up any additional registry traces and REBOOT when it's done again.

Then proceed to try and install again, making sure to right-click and "run as administrator" whenever installing software (even if logged in with an admin account, you should always do this to ensure full privileges are passed onto the installer files).

Thanks Bobbo_3C0X1.  Clearing out the %temp% directory did the trick!  All up and running now.

Glad to hear it!  Sorry for the late reply - apparently I'm not getting notifications for all of my responded threads right now.
