Hi!

What are the plans to support ADKs newer than ADK for Windows 10, version 1903 for the Acronis Disk Director 12.5 Media Builder?

This includes:

  • Windows ADK for Windows 10, version 2004
  • ADK for Windows Server 2022
  • ADK for Windows 11

I'm unable to create newer WinPE bootable media because the Windows ADK I've installed is version 2004 and the Media Builder is looking for the 1903 version apparently.

Is it possible to patch the Media Builder to accept the newer ADKs?

Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin,

thank you for your posting! I'm afraid the chances of new updates for Acronis Disk Director 12.5 are very low, however we plan to support Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 in the next major version of Acronis Disk Director.

WinPE is a tiny operating system for installing, deploying, and troubleshooting Windows clients and servers. Windows PE isn't intended to be used in a general-purpose environment. It can't be utilized for anything but deployment and recovery. It doesn't need a hard disc because it's loaded into physical memory, and the base image only takes up 512 MB. You can create WinPE images by using some 3rd party software easily. Also, you can use Windows Command Prompt to create the image then you can make it bootable using different software.
