Hello all, we are considering purchasing the product to expand a problem server we have.  Its a Dell server with a Perc 710 controller, SAS drives in Raid 5 running on 2012 R2

Our issue is, we have expanded our array, converted the disk from MBR to GPT, and converted it to dynamic disk.  We are trying to expand the volume with the additional free space but Acronis doesn't see it, can anyone advise?  Our windows server disk tools are failing to do what we need, getting an error of not enough free space on the disk, which there clearly is.  So we were hoping a third party tool would be able to help.  Any advice appreciated.

Hello Steve ,

thank you for your posting! As a workaround, you may want creating a backup of the system and restoring it to the new configuration. There might be issues with the partition table, if the Windows native tools also produce warnings. Using backup\recovery method would help to overcome such issues.

When converting a disc from MBR to GPT and attempting to convert it to a dynamic disc on a server. Or we're just attempting to extend the volume with the additional free space if Acronis doesn't find it, or the Windows Server disc tools fail to perform what we need, resulting in an error stating that there isn't enough free space on the drive, which there is. So because the Windows native tools also provide warnings, there might be a problem with the partition table. Using a backup recovery technique might assist in resolving such problems. And keep in mind that this method does not work every time so proceed with caution.
