Windows Vista Home Premium and use Windows Mail
Suppose I am being a real dummy, but what am I supposed to put in the E-mail parameters setup in the "From" box?
Anything you like that will help you identify that the e-mail can from your PC and Drive Monitor
I believe should work and that is what you would see as the "From" address in you e-mail client when it arrived.
I tried using just what you showed in your answer and that didn't work either. I had previously tried "Acronis Drive Monitor" and "ADM" but nothing I've used works. Something jogged my memory so I checked it out. I had this same problem when I purchased the Acronis True Image Home 10.0 and never was able get it to send me emails alerts.
I cannot check out DM as it will not work on my system.
I can say however trying this on ATIH2010 (which I have always had as a blank item before) it only works when you put in your real e-mail address it seems anything else and even the "Send test e-mail" fails.
So in the light of that I would leave it blank.
Done some more looking - can I ask who your ISP is - Are you in the UK? I don't need any more details that that.
e.g: BT UK=Yes
In the U.S. I tried leaving it blank and that didn't work either. ISP is our local telephone company.
All I can say is that it works OK for me in ATIH2010 one would assume that they use the same code to send e-mail in all their products.
Sorry looks like I cannot help you - apart from saying are you sure that you have the details entered correctly username/password etc and the DNS name of your SMTP server is correct

What I found out worked was the the E-mail address: userid@node and From: userid
In my testing if the from field was anything other than my userid, than the send test message failed.
I hope that this works for you.
