Can't stop running, scheduled task, status is always running

I am trying to stop and delete a scheduled task that hasn't been successfully ran in the past month and a half. When I right click the task, I get a Stop running task, and the status bar turns into an empty status bar. However the scheduled task doesn't actually stop. There is no way to delete the scheduled task either. It looks like the task is a scheduled Full Information Store backup that was created almost a month and a half ago, but was never successfully created. I didn't create the task, I just started at my job about three weeks ago. I found this in the server's Application event logs.
