Acronis Archive password
I am using Acronis snap deploy 4 and cannot remember the image archive password, Is there a way to reset it. Or is there a default password I can use. Right now the image is useless without the password.... Thank you for your time.
Hi Technical Support,
archive password is one of the means of protection and as such, it cannot be reset or retrieved.
If you lost the password from a master image, you'll need to create a new one.
I have the same problem. The only one of my backups that I want is files and folders. Yet, when I try to recover the files I get the error msg that I need PW. I've NEVER protected my backups with passwords nor my backup drive. I can use the other backup files except this one. I've tried all of the possible combinations of words and phrase but noting works. Of course, the most obvious PW is the one that I use with Acronis to log on and for this forum. But it does not work either.
I do have a full backup of the same period but I do not need to recover my OS and system files. Is there a way to identify or isolate the files in the full backup that I need?
as far as I understand you are using Acronis True Image.
Our products don't protect backups with password by themselves. Most likely you activated password protection for a test.
In any case, having full system backup you can easily recover separate files not having to recover the whole system.
To do so, please follow this instruction: http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2015/index.html#7944.html
