No logs on image by 6589 rescue flash?

Thread needs solution

Using recovery USB flash with .6589 version I did an image. Tried to see and save the log. There was no log, but a "No item for the selected period" message. Seems like pure nonsense. I had no selected period to pick from so no idea why no log, which dreadful as these logs are, in the previous version (6581) logs existed.

Please upgrade to the latest build #6595 and give it another try after recreating the USB Rescue media.

I don't have a computer with ATIH 2016 to test this myself but the log feature is working fine on my ATIH 2017 Rescue Media, so doubt that Acronis have changed this just for the 6589 build!

Thanks. Didn't know about .6595.

Should I uninstall .6589 and clean install this new secret version?

If yes, would that include messing with cleaning several filters in the registry?

You shouldn't need to do a clean install for the #6595 build if the current version is running fine within Windows, just download the full installer for the new build from your Acronis Account and install it over the top of what you have, then recreate the Rescue Media to test again for the logs.

I haven't installed 6595 yet, because maybe the cause of no log is that I don't have Creator's update yet.
What do you think?
And if I'm correct, I should probably uninstall 6589 and revert to 6581.

Sorry but do not see that having the Creator's update (1703) or not should not make a difference here.  I have never seen the logs not working in either the main Windows application or in the rescue media (albeit that you need to use the MVP Log Viewer to make access to the windows logs easier).

6595 installed over the top just fine using admin account. I don't plan to use the terrible GUI, but it looked ok. Nice that I didn't have to dig out the licenses again :)

I just finished an image using rescue flash and no problem with the log. It even validated ok. And in windows explorer I can see the files and can copy them out. Whether the log failure on 6589 was a fluke or a feature, I don't know and don't care. Thanks.

You mentioned MVP log viewer. Is that available under the rescue media regime? I thought it was only if you use ATI on the desktop which I avoid like the plague (other than via explorer).

Glad to hear that all is looking good with the logs. The MVP log viewer is only needed in Windows for the logs.
