When I change the Custom Destination for backups to "Acronis Secure Zone". soon afterward, it will change back to Custom Destination folder. Then the next day backup fails ! I have to change it to Acronis Secure zone each day, and manually start a backup before it switches back.

Sorry but have not encountered such an issue as far as I can remember here in the forums, and not in my own use of ATI across many different versions.

Are you running ATI as Administrator when you make this change of Destination?

This just recently started happening. I have been using this version since it came out and previously had no issues with it.  And yes, I am administrator.

NOTE: When I select ASZ as the destination, is shows as the destination for a minute or two, but then reverts back to the yellow folders Custom Destination.

Where is your ASZ located?  Is this on your local internal disk drive, or on an external drive?

ASZ is on my C: internal hard drive. PS I just reinstalled 2017 ATI. The partition backup has been running 2 hours, saying 1 minute left, for the last hour. It initiallaly selected 86 GB. Just now ended with over 170GB backed up. What gives with that discrepancy ?

Sorry but no idea why you backup might be double in size without a lot more information and the log for the backup task?

If I had an ext drive, I sure would NOT be using this shitty ASZ !

Ksiemb, having the ASZ on your local C: OS drive is false security for any user because if you have any form of drive failure you will lose everything!

I would strongly recommend making a priority to invest in an external drive when that is an option for you.

Thank you. I am well aware of the problem with having ASZ on the hard drive. Just can't afford external drive right now. At least if drive stays healthy, I have backup against malware.

Now, answer this if you know - I have always been able to view ASZ with file explorer, until recently, ie last week or so. Now, it shows as device, but can't see the archives on it. I have to boot into Acronis Media recovery CD to see the Archives, and they are there !    Any thoughts ?   Like maybe repair ?

Please see forum topic: Acronis Secure Zone not working - where I documented a process I used to get my own test ASZ working recently.

Thank you Steve. I have the ATIS:\\\ problem corrected so that now the destination shows as ATZ - And my scheduled backup this morning at 4:35 am worked without failure. However, file explorer will show the ACronis Secure Zone as a device next to my hard drive c: with blue highlight, but no usage info like the C drive shows. And clicking on it does nothing. The only way I can see the Archives in ASZ, is to boot with Acronis Recovery CD, and act as though I want to do a recovery !

My own ASZ shows next to drive C: in Explorer but when I double-click on it, I get a UAC pop-up for the AszBrowseHelper program before it will open to show the backups stored inside, then again for each further double-click to open those backup files.

I am doing this from an Administrator level account.
