Acronis True Image 2018 stuck on source disk

I'm trying to clone a disk, but when I click the source disk, the application gets stuck.

The window with the spinning hand keeps going, but after 20 minutes nothing happens.

Any idea what is going on?

Vinit Belam, welcome to the Acronis user forum.

To be able to assist you in resolving the issue much more information is required.

How are you attempting to do the clone, is it from within Windows or using the ATI recovery media, if the latter which version of the recovery media are you using? The various types of recovery media are listed in section 11.1.1 of the ATI 2018 User Guide. The Acronis bootable rescue media uses Linux distribution, and may not be suitable for you needs - this can be created either from within ATI 2018 or downloading the iso from you Acronis Account. If you are cloning the disk containing the operating system, my recollection is that if you attempt to do so from ATI 2018 itself, it will then close down windows and boot into a temporary Linux installation. Things have been know to go wrong with this approach (backing up within windows is greatly improved in more recent versions of ATI).

What operating system are you using, for example Windows 10 x64 Pro, version 20H2 build 19042.1023.

Also, how many disk drives does the PC have? Does it use UEFI or BIOS/Legacy. You can find this out by typing "system information" into the search bar, which bring up the system information app, look for the entry for "Bios mode".
