Hello

General question:

I have have a file server with my image saved on it,

and I have a bootable Acronis True Image USB flash drive.

If i wanted to image multiple like 5-8 machines simultaneously could i pull the USB drive when the imaging starts on PC#1 and go to the next Pc and start to image?

1) will it work pulling the usb out or will that kill the Acronis software

2) can multiple machines grab the image file at the same time or will that cause errors?

I looked at Acronis Snap but a side question would be when paying for the deployment licenses if i have to reimage a pc later on due to some kind of failure do i need to purchase another deployment license or is it licensed 1 time and can have a fresh image with out additional costs?

I am probably looking to image 20-40 pcs that every once in a while some may need reimaged due to hardware or software issue.  The pcs would be on a 3yr service plan. after 3 years they would be retired and new replacement pcs would be imaged.

Thank you

Marty, welcome to these public User Forums.

1) the Acronis app on USB should load fully into memory thus allowing the USB media to be removed once the offline application has been launched.

2) I would not advise trying to compete from multiple machines accessing the backup image file as Acronis will need to perform very many reads of the same across the network.

Acronis True Image / Cyber Protect Home Office is not designed or intended to be used in the way you are envisaging, especially deploying images to multiple machines - it is intended as a Home / Office backup & recovery application.  These applications do not perform any SysPrep of backup images to prepare them for deployment.

I have no experience of Acronis Snap Deploy so you would need to speak directly to Acronis to get answers about how it is licensed etc.
