I do not recall seeing any reports of any errors about 'changing the startup type for the Acronis Scheduler service' in the ATI forums, and have not seen this on any of my own computers.

I would be of the opinion that this could be caused by security software preventing changes to either the Services.msc control panel, or to the Windows Registry settings behind these.

One computer has MS Security Essentials and the other computer has Avast Free as security software.

What is shown as the startup type for the Acronis Scheduler2 Service on the problem computers?

This is what is shown on my own computer (Win 10).

I have checked it today. The services "Remoteprozeduraufruf (RPC)", "DCOM-Server-Prozessstart" und "RPC-Endpunktzuordnung" were running. Also the service "Seagate Scheduler2 Service" which must be the same as "Acronis Scheduler2 Service". Der service name was also "AcrSch2Svc".

Over the next two weeks, I will not have access to the notebooks to check for more. Thanks for your help.

Hi, I can confirm the problem itself and that it's not related to security software.

OS: Win10 1903

I still have the problem. In the meantime I have installed the software on three notebooks with Windows 7 64-bit Home. All have an external Seagte drive and all have the same problem.

Please see KB 2201: Support for OEM Versions of Acronis Products - which applies to all OEM versions of ATI such as Seagate DiskWizard.

I have had still the problems with Seagate DiskWizard. But I installed the Seagate DiskWizard because the two notebooks were connected to an external Seagate drive.

Now I have found a way to save the internal drives of the two notebooks on the external Seagate drive.

The first notebook has a internal Crucial ssd and I installed the Acronis OEM version for Crucial and and the backup was now successful. The second notebook has an internal Sandisk ssd and I installed the Acronis OEM version for WD and  the backup was also successful because Sandisk ist a part of WD.
