Hello, I am trying to install True Image 2020 on PC Win 10 x64 and in the middle of the installation there is a short error message which informs me that it is impossible to install: Acronis Tib Manager. Because it is incompatible with the integrity of Windows memory. I disabled memory core isolation and reinstalled Acronis and then restarted my PC. No problem with the installation of Acronis but since its installation it is now impossible to reactivate the isolation of the core. Can someone help me solve this problem? Me who believed that in 2020 it was finished this kind of software problem but to what I note, XP is not so far ... lollll Thanks in advance for your support Gilles.L

Giles, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but this is a known limitation of all current versions of ATI - I can only suggest that you either submit Feedback direct to Acronis via the tool provided in the ATI GUI, or else open a support ticket with them to register your disappointment in this limitation.

Hello Gilles,

could you check if Try&Decide is enabled on the affected PC? This is the only component of Acronis True Image that cannot be used together with memory integrity feature of Windows 10.  If TnD is not enabled, memory integrity can be enabled and vice verse if TnD is enabled - memory integrity can not be enabled   https://kb.acronis.com/content/46475#T_D_does_not_start3

I am using Acronis True Image 2021 with Try & Decide disabled. I cannot enable Memory integrity. tib.sys is listed as a incompatible driver.

Just updated to the new version. They changed the product name but still did not fix the broken tib.sys

I believe WIndows 11 has Memory Integrity turned on to ensure security... will Acronis finally fix this bug that makes our PCs vulnerable to attacks? I though they cared about security?

The new version is new in name only; only minor tinkering with last release of ATI 2021. It can charitably called a holding release. It will be replaced what is promised to be a completely new product in first half of 2022.

If you are correct about the Windows 11 default, then I can report that I had no problem running Acronis Cyber Protect 15 on a PC Windows 11 beta. Not that that helps much at the moment, but it does indicate that the problem can be fixed. The best solution would be to dump Try&Decide which has outlived its usefulness.

Hello Everyone,

discussed the topic with my colleagues from the RnD - Memory Integrity feature is currently not compatible with Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office\Acronis True Image software due to the conflicting drivers used. At this point, adding support for the Memory Integrity feature is not possible, however we continue collecting the feedback on this feature.

So we have a Security product that is incompatible with a security feature

Hmm, I just check again and it seems with Windows 10 build 19043.1387 it's on now.

Was it fixed?

(I had given up and forget where the setting was that was blocked by tib.sys))

Erol, it seems a little odd. The change would have to have been made in that build of Windows 10 (or earlier) since ATI 2020 has not been updated for a long time. Not sure how that would work.

Update:  Just check with Windows 10 Enterprise x 64 system running 19043.1415 and ATI 2021 (last build), and it is not working.

This problem is discovered since almost 2 years and Acronis R&D engineers still haven't found a fix?

Incredible...!

I have the same issue, though with Windows 11.  I chatted with Acronis technical support today, they have no information on the (potential) fix, no ETA either.  As an aside, I have found other issues with the Acronis protection scheme blocking (without any notifications to the user) valid computer functions, the most recent being software update processes from Cyberlink.  I've turned off parts of Acronis protection and may have to turn off more if it continues to be a pest.

BTW, also checking with our friends at Logitech about their driver, which is part of the X52 Professional Space & Flight Simulator HOTAS system.

I just received a Windows 11 Security alert that tib.sys was an incompatible driver. I am unable to turn on Memory Integrity in the Core Isolation window under the Windows Security . This alert just popped up this morning even though I have had Windows 11 installed and running on my computer for a few weeks now. It would seem that there is no fix for this problem from Acronis (if I'm understanding what I'm reading here)

You are correct Larry, there is not (yet) a solution.  As of 9/5/2022, this is the response from Vicky Jaiswal, Support Engineer, Acronis Customer Central:

"I would like to inform that this is a know issue and have been reported to the team concerned. We will notify you once the issue is fixed.

Please do not hesitate to contact us, should you need further assistance. We are here to help you."

Don, for users of ACPHO this issue is resolved by doing a Custom Install of the latest build #40107 and not selecting 'Try&Decide tool' to be installed - this is the component that brings in the tib.sys driver that is incompatible with Core Isolation / Memory Integrity.

See KB 69387: Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office: how to install for details of Custom Install

For any users of earlier versions of Acronis such as ATI 2021 and previous, then the only remedy is to rename tib.sys or remove the registry entry that loads the same.  This will prevent use of Try&Decide but not impact anything else!

I re-ran the latest installer and did a MODIFY to remove the Try and Decide feature. That seems to have solved the problem for me. Of course, then I got a new warning about about an ASUS driver called AsIO.sys. The heartache never ends lol
