Acronis True Image 2020 Build 38530 on Windows 10 Pro Build 19043.1237

I have a file-level Incremental Backup which has been running for months and months problem-free. It includes the local copy of a OneDrive folder.

I am receiving daily "backup task execution failed" notifications:

2021-10-12T09:16:26:647-04:00 18100 I00640000: Writing incremental version to file: OneDrive_inc_b32_s6_v1.tib

2021-10-12T09:16:28:226-04:00 42016 E00170027: Failed to back up file or folder '\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy157\Users\tinius\OneDrive\Arduino Books and Docs\Getting Started in Electronics - Forrest Mims 2021.pdf'.
It may be blocked by another application. Failed to back up the file. (0x170027)
Path = "\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy157\Users\tinius\OneDrive\Arduino Books and Docs\Getting Started in Electronics - Forrest Mims 2021.pdf",

Each day the three-digit number in HarddiskVolumeShadowCopynnn increments by two, 153, 155, 157, etc.

There are no problems with any other files in the OneDrive folders and I have not recently opened the document shown in the error message - i.e. it is not open now.

What is the problem and how can I solve it?

Stephen, the most likely reason for the issue is having OneDrive Files on Demand enabled which means that some files are not stored locally but are kept as reparse points that point to the location in the cloud for the files.

Acronis cannot process reparse points for such files.
