Upgrade cloud storage - Is it me or how does it work?

I have a 3 computer license with 1TB cloud storage. My subscription ends in february 2021. If i launch TI2020 and go to Account to upgrade it will cost me €139.99. I have the subscription that ends 2021, so i do not need to extend that subscription to 2022, i just want to upgrade the cloud storage for my excisting license, from 1TB to 2TB. According to https://www.acronis.com/en-eu/personal/buy-backup buying and upgrading a new license from it´s default 1TB storage to 2TB adds €40 to the cost. So why must i pay €139.99? Is this a pure user error by me or something else? The support don´t know what to do, for this and how to downgrade the license from 3 computer to a 1 computer license. I am seriously consider to leave Acronis Cloud and use CloudBerry Explorer and use Microsoft Azure. Scalable without hassles and faster upload and download speeds. I am on a Azure trial now. Additional info: I had an issue with Acronis Cloud and the Android app that the support never could solve. Since they could not resolve it they extended my subscription one year. Can that be the issue?

My recollection is that it is no longer possible to easily increase cloud storage entitlement. As you have found out the only way of doing so seems to be to get a new subscription. This may not do exactly what you want...
Thanks for your answer! :)
Yes, that´s unfortunately correct. I got an answer from the support and the only option to upgrade the cloud storage is to buy a new license.
Since this is the case i will stop using Acronis Cloud and migrate over to Microsoft Azure. I started my Azure subscription today.

Hello Roger,
You do need to buy a new license but it shall be discounted. And then you just apply this new license with the option to increase storage so it will recalculate you the storage size and the end date of your current subscription.
Not sure why it was not discounted. Could you, please, share a screenshot of the available options in store so that I could report this to marketing?

Hello Renata,
All expected options are aviable when buying a new license, for example a Premium license with the option to select 1TB,2TB,3TB,4TB and 5TB.
I have two issues:
- I want to downgrade my current license from 3 computers to 1 computer.
- I want to buy more cloud storage, upgrade from todays 1TB to 2TB.
#1 is impossible to do free of charge without buying a new license for €139,99. #2 is also impossible to do without buying a new license for €139,99.
Regarding #2, if i buy a new premium license selecting 2TB instead of the default 1TB it will add €40 to the total cost. That became the main issue, iow need to buy a new license for €139,99 when all i want is to pay the expected €40. My current license expires 2021-03-22. If i had three/two/one month left it would have been a non-issue, but i have more than one (1) year left and then €139,99 vs €40 became a concern for me.
There is no way to upgrade the cloud storage from 1TB to 2TB from within TI2020 either. The only option is the €139,99 there as well.
This inflexable model for managing current licenses and managing the need for more cloud storage made me sign up for a Microsoft Azure Storage account and buying MSP360 Explorer Pro for Azure to solve the problem in a convinient way.
So the problem is that there is no way to just upgrade the cloud storage on a current license without buying a new license. For a current customer it is plain impossible. (Ticket 04300426)

Upgrade cloud storage
No choices for upgrade.
With all the options and choices listed, who would of thought you could not upgrade your Cloud Storage on the fly.
Please fix this ASAP

Hi! All upgrade options are available in the product's build-in store, which can be accessed via the Account tab Please refer to 60165: Acronis True Image: how to purchase more cloud storage for more details.

It seems to depend...
I have more that one year left on my existing 3-computer license, but since i cannot downgrade my 3-computer license to a 1-computer my upgrade from 1 TB to 2 TB will cost me €139.99.
If i buy a new 1 computer Premium license that includes 1 TB it will cost me €40 to select 2 TB. That´s the issue here, if i buy a new Premium license and choose 2 TB it will cost me €40 more. I am ok with that. But having a 3 computer Premium license that expires march 2021 it is something wrong that i must pay €139.99 if i want to upgrade the cloud storage to 2 TB. I don´t even know if the license still will expire march 2021 or if it will be extended to march 2022 if i do.
In short:
There are only a limited options and this limitation made me to choose another cloud provider. I will not continue to subscribe to True Image either.

Hello Roger,
you are right, with the current licensing scheme it is only possible to extend the Cloud storage through the upgrading to a higher license tier, where basically you buy another year of subscription (in your example the tariff will be extended to 2022). We've raised an internal change request to make it possible to purchase additional cloud storage within the current subscription duration. Thank you!
