Virtual Environment Support

One of the reasons I purchased Acronis True Image 2020 was the feature "Virtual Environment Support", see ATI 2020 features. I wondered why the conversion of disk backups (which ATI 2020 creates in .tibx format) to VHD format was not available in my version of ATI 2020 (Build 22510). Meanwhile I found in ATIs knowledge base kb63425: "Acronis True Image 2020: Limitations of tibx backups", which says amongst other things that Backup conversion to VHD format is not possible and that these limitations do not apply to backups in .tib format. My question is: Is it possible to create disk backups in .tib format with ATI 2020 which can be converted in VHD format? Helpful hints are welcome.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for that information.
Acronis should implement an option in the advanced settings (e.g. "use old .tib format") and do the settings in the backup configuration file described in your mentioned topic until the conversion to VHD for .tibx format is available.
(hopefully soon).
Ewald

Similar suggestions were made during the ATI 2020 Beta testing phase but nothing came of them!

Submitting a ticket for that at the Acronis support wouldn't obviously change anything, would it?

Probably not, but you can submit Feedback via the GUI tool to register your comments.

Ekaterina, if I have not already voted for ability to select between *.tib and *.tibx backup tasks, please do so now.

Hi Ekaterina,
Thanks a lot. Waiting for the next product update containing those change requests....
Do you know the schedule for the next update?

Unfortunately the post does not say that the changes will be in the next build of ATI 2020, just that the change requests has been submitted. My recollection is that TI-1700387 resulted from requests by beta testers for ATI 2020.
I suspect they have already started work on ATI 2021 so there is a possibility that we will have to wait until ATI 2021 is released. Depends on how far down the track they are in implementing the feature.
