Hello ...  Sorry for bad english (not my original language)

So I repaired and improved laptop PC 6 years..i5
Install a 2TB SSD drive (by cloning the old one) - Addition of 8 GB of RAM ... etc ...
I have a problem with an old installation of Acronis 2010 ...
Here is the error:

Device drivers:
Devices with missing or improperly configured drivers can increase power consumption.
Device Name: Acronis Backup Archive Explorer
Device ID: ROOT \ ACRONISDEVICES \ 0000
Device status: 0x1802401
Device problem code: 0x13

I did however use the program provided by Acronis to clean up properly, without success:
ACRONIS-CleanupTool.exe

I don't want to format and reinstall the system ...
Windows 10 is up to date Version 1909 | 18363.815

How can I fix this error - Thanks

J'ai pourtant utiliser le programme fournit par Acronis pour nettoyer correctement, sans succès
ACRONIS-CleanupTool.exe
Je n'ai pas envie de formater et réinstaller le système ...

Welcome to these public User Forums.

Where are you seeing the device error message?

Did you run the Acronis Cleanup Tool as Administrator then restart the computer after doing so?

Have you followed the instructions in the Cleanup Tool documentation for checking the Windows Registry for entries to be removed?  Please take care if making registry changes and make a backup of any entries before making changes.

Please see KB 1622: Removing Acronis Backup Archive Explorer and follow the steps given in that document.

Hello,

Thank you help and for the information...
Well to start in the device manager, I have nothing since I used ACRONIS-CleanupTool.exe ...

Same in the registry, nothing
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\AcronisTimounterMonitor
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\timounter
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\tifsfilter
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} -> UpperFilters

By cons, by doing research, I found 2 interesting places ... with ACRONICEDEVICE, ROOT etc ...
Here are the Screens ....

Ordinateur\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\ROOT\ACRONISDEVICES\0000

Ordinateur\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\ACRONISDEVICES\0000

Can I safely delete this (these keys)? (of course, creation of a restore point before and backup of the registry)

Ordinateur\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\ROOT\ACRONISDEVICES\0000

Ordinateur\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\ACRONISDEVICES\0000

Thank you for your help

Did you reboot the computer after using the Acronis Cleanup tool, if not, then please do that first to see if those entries are removed.

If you have already rebooted the computer, then try removing the two registry entries to see if you are allowed to do so?

Hello,

After using Acronis Cleanup tool and restarting the computer ... The keys have not disappeared!
I tried total deletion ... impossible, error
I also tried to rename it, ditto ... error.

By the way, I just did a search on my main desktop computer ... I have exactly the same problem ... impossible to delete these keys (ASUS i7, SSD)
There must be a way to properly clean the registry ... I guess the acronis cleaner (Acronis Cleanup tool.exe must have gaps)

Thank you in advance for helping me clean these 2 computers correctly ...

Edition: Should I use this solution to delete?
I'm a little scared ... is this correct?

I would not recommend trying to force these registry entries to be deleted, it could cause more serious issues!

Please check in the following locations to see if any residual Acronis files remain?

Acronis folders.
C:\ProgramData\Acronis
C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis
C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\Acronis
C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Acronis\
C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Roaming\Acronis

HKCU\Software\Acronis
HKLM\Software\Acronis
HKCU\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Acronis
HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Acronis

You should also check C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\System32\Drivers for any files related to Acronis with names starting with 'snap' such as snapxxxx.dll or snapxxxx.sys but please carefully check the properties for such files for proof that they are Acronis files.

If all of the above locations are clear, then these registry entries should not have any impact on your computer and can be ignored.  You could try running a registry cleaner application to see if that would remove them, i.e. CCleaner or Glary Utilities etc.

Does not exist -> C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis
Does not exist -> C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\Acronis
Does not exist -> C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Acronis\
Does not exist -> C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Roaming\Acronis

Does not exist -> HKCU\Software\Acronis
Does not exist -> HKLM\Software\Acronis
Does not exist -> HKCU\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Acronis
Does not exist -> HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Acronis

Does not exist -> snapxxxx.dll or snapxxxx.sys

Only 2 Keys... Not possible delete ...

Ordinateur\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\ROOT\ACRONISDEVICES\0000

Ordinateur\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\ACRONISD

Possible delete with : Authorizations for ACRONISDEVICES

Does this system involve risks and does it work?

Or, it is preferable to use the PoweRun software to erase these 2 Keys ... What do you think? good idea ?

Thank You

Personally, I would now ignore these registry keys as they should have no impact on your computer.  They are in a dangerous area of the registry that should not be touched.

Hello -> Yes, I understand that ... but I am disappointed with the uninstalls of Acronis ... which leave useless keys lying around ... which moreover cannot be deleted ...
It would still be necessary that the programmers wonder ...

Cleaning Acronis is not 100% functional ... Besides ... I find the uninstall very very bad ... Even passing the cleaner ...
I'm not ready to reuse Acronis ...
Finally, I have 3 PCs which are not uninstalled correctly!
But thank you for your help ... and try to inform the programmers .. technicians and management ...

Have a nice day ... and take care of yourself ....
