Acronis Bootable Media Boots into non-responsive Low Resolution GUI

I installed Acronis 'True Image 2015' (Build 6525) over 'True Image Home 11' and backing-up works as normal, but found I could not select the Restore program after booting into my restore CD.

I built an Emergency Restore CD and later I also Downloaded the latest AcronisTrueImage2015_en-US.ISO image and burnt it using ImgBurn. In all cases my recovery CD Booted fine to the Menu (screen one), with Mouse support but when I selected 'Acronis True Image 2015' the screen went to a magnified version of screen two, which is unusable as there was no Mouse support and no scroll bars. There was no response to keys and I felt I had to kill the screen by forcing a reboot.

Acronis support advised me how to burn an ISO disc, assuming I was having a Boot problem, which was not the case as all my CDs Booted fine to the first screen.

Pursuing the matter, I asked about inserting Linux startup parameters to try to adjust screen resolution of screen two and received advice on the use of F11 before making a selection on screen one, or alternatively selecting "Startup parameters" when burning a recovery disk. (This is described in support article "3836: Acronis Bootable Media Boots into Garbled or Low Resolution GUI" http://kb.acronis.com/content/3836 ). This did not help me as all such Linux Startup entries were ignored as far as I could see.

Finally, my issue was resolved when Support made the following suggestion: "Let me know if the boot media locks up at the 2nd screen forever. I have come across such issues and the bootable media will direct to the home page after waiting for 5 to 10 minutes. Please wait on the 2nd screen for some time and see if it goes ahead with the boot process."

So, SOLUTION for me: I simply WAITED at the unreadable magnified second screen. I waited for at least FIVE FULL MINUTES (seems forever) and in some cases TEN and maybe fifteen minutes. After the wait (I just waited; no Linux startup parameters, nothing) the screen changed to the Acronis True Image 2015 program screen, asking if I wanted to Backup, Recover etc.

The wait seems not to be consistent (I just can't keep trying this to be more definite as I have wasted enough time messing about with something that should just work). The wait varies with occasion and with PC. Trying again can change the wait.

By the way, burning a "WinPE" recovery CD instead of the usual Linux-based CD resulted in a CD which always seems to work for me. The initial loading of screen one with WinPE takes several minutes but screen two seems to come up quickly within a minute or so.

I trust this information may help some people. I have asked Acronis Support to close my Case, with the suggestion that users are warned on Screen One to expect a possibly long wait!

I would dearly like to know what the devil the system is actually doing during the wait; maybe some sort of time-out? No matter, I can now be confident that I can recover, which is the whole point, after all.
