Backup operation failed - This is not the last volume of the backup archive error when trying to restore

Hey All,
Back again! First off, thanks to everyone here who is willing to lend a hand. My initial issue was trying to create a working bootable rescue media for a Dell Optiplex 7000 with m.2 SSD. Thanks to the help from this group I was able to determine I needed to create a bootable media with custom drivers, thanks to the Intel RST VMD controller creating a "fake RAID" with the single m.2 bootable OS drive. After adding the drivers I was able to boot from the rescue media USB drive, see the m.2 file system and create my first successful image!
Unfortunately, it goes downhill from there because I now need to create a second image with unique software and it keeps failing with the very ambiguous "backup operations failed". I see see the .tibx getting created, and the size looks valid, but when I try to restore that image to another identical Dell Optiplex 7000 using the rescue media with custom drivers I get "This is not the last volume of the backup archive" error when trying to restore. It is indeed the last volume.
Some things to note:
These are all brand new, out of the box workstations so we can skip all the "bad RAM/bad drive chkdsk" stuff.
The only differences I can think of between my first successful back and subsequent failures are:
I removed the Acronis software from the machine.
I installed two required pieces of software: Qualys Cloud Security Agent and CrowdStrike Windows Sensor. I have not tried to create a backup without these two required software components.
I removed wuaserv and windows medic because these are offline machines that can not do over the internet upgrades, and are in 24/7 operation in a broadcast facility.
Thanks in advance for your valuable insight!

Hey Steve,
I believe a Google search for "this is not the last volume of the backup archive" lead me into this category, then I clicked on "Create New Topic" and it just created the post in this thread. I am using Cyber Protect build 40338. I have given up on the rescue media at this point, and just trying to backup from Acronis installed on the machine.
Any idea where these logs might reside? They aren't in Program Files > Acronis > CyberProtect.
Thanks!
Scott

Scott,
Download a copy of the MVP Assistant log viewer tool and use this to look at the logs to see if they show any issues during the operation process?
The latest version of the new log viewer tool is at the link below.
MVP Assistant - New 2.0 with Rescue Media Builder (New Version 2.6.2)
If you have Disks & Partitions backups created on ATI 2020 or later using .tibx files, then look in the Backup Worker logs.
If you have Files & Folders backups using .tib files (or Disk backups from earlier versions using .tib files) or using Cloning then look in the Demon logs.
Other logs are shown by the MVP Assistant under the 'Active Logs' heading of the Log Viewer page of the Assistant.
The Schedule2 log contains information related to scheduled task but is one of the more difficult logs to read / work through.
The log files should be zipped to preserve their original file names if sharing in the forums and would need to be less than 3MB in size, otherwise you would need to share the zip file via a Cloud share service such as OneDrive, Dropbox etc.

Hey Steve,
Thanks again for your help! I ran the MVP assistant and found the backup worker logs. I can't upload the file for some undisclosed reason. The first error I see is "failed to open the archive: corrupted page is found at 34420662272". Is it having trouble with the USB drive? It's almost brand new, and the successful .tibx exists on it, so it worked then. (about five days ago)

Scott, I would suggest trying a new backup to a different destination drive to confirm that it is the current USB drive that is giving this corruption error.
The File > Upload option in the forums has been broken for some time now and Acronis are being very slow at fixing it!

Wow. That was crazy. I stuck a newly formatted 128GB USB drive and it worked! Of course that creates more questions, as this is a brand new 2TB USB drive. Does format matter? NTFS vs ExFAT? Does the size of the drive make a difference? Or is it the fact that I've already written a .tibx to this large USB thumbdrive and that has just set something that messes with the Acronis' ability to write a second .tibx to it?
I will update this thread as I narrow it down. Big thanks for the MVP assistant. Seeing the detailed log myself greatly helped. Too bad Acronis can't print the important parts of the failure to the Rescue Media log screen.

Both xFAT and NTFS are supported by ACPHO.
