Strange Acronis 2014 issue. Advice appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any help.

I use Acronis True Image 2014, (should upgrade really but that's another story!)  Works fine bar when the PC has a kernel power crash but a rescheduled back up does the trick.

The other day I thought I would try an save on electricity and see if shutting down the PC overnight might help as I usually leave it on, and the back up was always scheduled for 2am so thought I would just change the time and bring it forward a bit.

Shortly before 9 I changed the time of the schedule to 9pm but when 9pm hit the message "Failed to parse the script from file" kept appearing.  I changed the time several times but always got that message and the back up was failing.

I therefore scheduled a completely new schedule and back up which created a link to a new folder on the D Link drive and switched it back to 2am because by then I had noticed in the settings that the program can wake the PC up from sleep and that works perfectly so I have three nights worth of good back ups at 2am.  Problem is I am also getting a series of failed back up's at 9pm with the error messages "failed to process pair script" and "operation has completed with errors" under the event log.

The problem is on the home page only the 2am schedule is listed which shows the back ups are being saved to a different folder.  The old schedule which was last left at 9pm seemed to vanish so whilst it is still trying to back up at the scheduled time I can't find this schedule anywhere so I can turn it off/delete it, if you get my drift?

Tried looking under all settings but cannot see this 9pm schedule anywhere so any ideas on why it is trying to back up at this time?

Thank you, hope it made sense!

Max, welcome to these public User Forums.

Please try downloading the Acronis Scheduler Manager tool from the link in my signature which will allow you to clean out any unwanted scheduled tasks or all scheduled tasks then set up a new schedule for your task.

Hi Steve, Thanks for your reply.  Have opened the tool and this screen appears when I suggest "get list".  No idea how I can tell which one is the one I want to keep?

Max, open your C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder and look at the .tib.tis files that are stored there.  These are XML data files which you can open in Notepad, and the name of the file will correspond to one of the entries shown in your screen image in the /script: identifier.  The name of the task is shown near the top of the XML data.

The alternative approach is to do a 'task zap' in the schedmgr.exe tool, which will remove all scheduled tasks, then open the main ATI application, and set the schedule for your main 2am task again normally.

Hi Steve,  Cannot find the scripts folder so probably best I start from scratch again.  Where do I find the schedmgr.exe tool?

Many thanks.

The schedmgr.exe tool is the Acronis Scheduler Manager that you used previously to get a list of scheduled tasks using 'get list'.

The scripts folder may be hidden by default in Windows, so go into the Explorer View options and enable the option to "Show hidden files, folders and drives" in the View tab for 'Folder Options' in Explorer to make it visible.

Hi Steve,  Thanks again, apologies I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to computers!

Decided to wipe clean and reschedule.  Completed a full back up and it completed and saved in the previous folder without issue.,  Will wait with baited breath till 9pm and 2am tonight!  Only thing I am confused about is the message upon back up completion.

- The following backup has been configured: KINGSTON SV300S37A240G

Backup destination: Z:\My backups\KINGSTON SV300S37A240G\@task@.tibOption 'backup password' applied. -

Have never seen the end bit in bold before?

Thanks again....

Max, if you cleared all the current schedule via using 'task zap' and then rescheduled your task, this should be the only schedule that will run for you.

The bold information is purely informational so can be ignored.

Hi Steve,

Yep cleared using task zap.  Rescheduled and now only this appears if I type "get list".  Assume this is only one schedule.
