spam email

Wasn't sure were to post this, so I put it under forum administration - apologies if this is the wrong section.
Today I received a spam email touting prescription medicine on my dedicated Acronis email address.
I am obviously concerned that Acronis are either selling user data or the website's user database has been compromised.
I have had an account on your main website since 2009 and the email address is totally unique to it.
Could you please clarify if there have been any security breaches in recent years?


I have had the same issue. Registered I think in 2011.. and now am receiving spam emails to an acronis specific address.
That's another customer acronis are going to loose as if they can't take care of their customers details, I'm not going to allow them to take care of my imaging solutions.
Receive on average 3 a week at the moment.
NOT happy.

This spam going to your address could have nothing to do with Acronis. You can easily receive spam mail to a mail address even if you've never given out that address anywhere. Spammers generate addresses, to popular domains, that are likely to have users. I've seen spam to brand new addresses that have never been used anywhere.
So, it's quite possible that there was no failure at Acronis and no sharing or breach of your e-mail address.
