Silent censorship

Thread needs solution

It seems a moderator deleted my last forum post, without any message or notice to me at all. Simply deleted it silently.

Is that how things work around here?

It was a perfectly legitimate post. So I'd like to understand, first, why was it deleted without any notification to me (i.e. no basic courtesy), and second, what rules did it break?

Was it truly "legitimate"? We see many rude, insulting posts and tiresome rants. Of course the posters consider their posts to be acceptable.

Get over it. This is not a free speech forum. This is a forum primarily for user-to-user help. If you have complaints to make to Acronis, send them to Acronis.

Yes, it was truly legitimate.

I noted that the first patch for True Image 2013 came out after more than 8 months. I then pointed out, based on the number of bugs in the product, that Acronis should consider making more frequent patches, so that issues can be caught and rectified more quickly. There was no strong or offensive language in the post, and I consider that it was quite well written.

You consider that to be suitable for censorship? And appropriate for immediate deletion with no courtesy message to me?

If a support centre persons name and copies of the chat are posted, this would be against the terms of forum use. that will normally get a post removed.

Your username suggests that you came here solely to rant and complain.

Colin B, see my post just prior to yours, where I explained what the post was about that got removed.

It used to be accessible at:
http://forum.acronis.com/forum/41234

But now it's been deleted by a mod.

Ah yes, Grindax, you managed to post while I was still typing. :)

Well, anyway, of thousands of forum posts I've made at various sites, this is the first time I've ever seen one of my posts get deleted. It came as quite a shock.

I'm always courteous and considerate. I don't insult others, and I don't do "tiresome rants".

There are some software projects, for example, where I've posted literally hundreds of detailed bug reports in their forums, making a constructive contribution that has resulted in the product becoming much better.

I was hoping for a bit of a friendlier initial reception here, but I'll be fine.

btw, tuttle, my nickname is pronounced: Grin. Dax. :)
