Just speculation on my part but I would thing that the relevant services would still be running, so protection should be OK.

I would like to give a suggestion, when we opened the software acronis ransomware it is already logged in because the same need to be logged into the account to back up this access to all the data of the computer or is that this data was exposed, it would be interesting that when trying open the interface or the browser to download or even view the files the software prompts the user for a maintenance password or the account password to hear a greater security in the data.
