Upgrade to TI 2019 Breaks Win 10 1809 system restore
I chipped in on another similar topic -
but mine different enough that I starting my own thread.
After posting in other thread.. and not getting confirmations I thought I would go ahead and try again. So this time, I did another full backup/image of my C drive, and checked just before doing the TI 2019 upgrade that system restore was working - and it was, just fine.
So just to be extra careful - I turned off system restore, and exited (completely exited.. not just pause protection) my Antivirus (Kaspersky total security), and then went ahead with the TI 2019 install/update.
TI reported the update as successful.. I went into TI and all my TI 2018 backups looked to be recognised etc .. all looked good. I checked system restore.. and that was still working .. so I thought I was OK.. but Just to be sure, I rebooted.. and when I came back - I checked system restore again - and now it was broken. With the same error as I reported last time. (I did take screen shot - but lost after restore of C drive)
So the break of system restore def related to the upgrade to TI 2019. And it a pig of an error, in that I uninstalled TI 2019, but system restore remained broken. I did a sfc and DCIM fix run - but it remained broken. So I ended up having to restore again (and again - Acronis handled that beautifully)... so I back to having TI 2018 installed. Also means any logs from update will be lost.
Anyone seeing same thing? I know Sys restore is prob not commonly used, but it cant be just me.. my WIn 10 install was fresh a few months ago.. and upgraded to Win 10 1809 cleanly and my machine works perfectly (I am a bit OCD about my machine working well).
Any help appreciated.. Fire away if you have questions.
