2013 File Restore Issue
I have a very large file I'm recovering. I validated the backup and it says it is good. The True Image reports the backup file as containing 2,994,537 files and 228,946 folders with a total size of 888.7GB. In early August I attempted to restore this backup I created July 31, It ran for nearly 30 hours (the backup takes about 18 hours to create) and I noticed the screen was saying about 4 minutes to completion. Two and a half hours later it was still saying 4 minutes to completion. Windows Task Manager (Windows 7) showed that Acronis True Image was running and I had not messages to the contrary but it seemed to be hung up. So I stopped the operation. I w
Windows Explorered to the folder on the recovery destination folder on C:\drive and noticed that most, not all, files looked something like this: 67AF8CD87~filename.Suffix~ Today I'm running it again. I Windows Explorered to the folder being restored on my C:\ drive and noticed that ALL the files have this 8 digit alpha-numeric~filename.suffix~ format. Is this what I should see before the operation completes? Is there something that runs after all files have restored that removed the 8-digit code and the ~? The first time, did I kill the operation before it finished and that is why some files had the 8-digit code while other had the actual file name. Would a 30+ hour restore be reasonable for a file the took only 18 hours to backup? By the way I restored a much smaller file and it restored within minutes without a problem, so I know Acronis can restore a file, I'm just asking for assistance on what I should be expecting here.
