DLLHOST and Explorer Conflict

Thread needs solution

Hi TJ,
unfortunately you write anything to the file / download newly loaded by you.
I've just checked.
Currently, the build is still in the database by Acronis, build: 5551 from 2012-08-27 date.
So, a change to the download seems most unlikely, there is also a new build number / date.
The comments of mine refer to Windows 7 Prof 64 bit, desktop.
On your Windows XP, laptop, the Acronis behavior may be quite different.
Especially since, if I have understood it correctly, it is likely unrealistic a stripped laptop, almost without having programs in use.

This fix works to correct the COM Surrogate and DLL Host errors in 2013 build 5551 (not for build 6514). Also fixes the right-click context menu issue some users are experiencing.

James,

Thx you for your reply. Sorry that I used wrong thread 33951.

I downloaded and copied "ti_managers_proxy.zip" into respective directory and replaced existing .dll. But my problem is still there.

Right-click on a folder/file in Explorer does crash the same. Only uninstalling ATI 2013 does fix the issue.

I'm using Windows XP SP3
Acronis 2013 Build 5551.

Any other idea???

Thank you for your help so far.

Hi ADI,
I got the info from Acronis to your message!
What do you have really for a problem?

Okieh,

I can only repeate what I already explained in Reply # 54:

When I perform a RIGHT-click in Windows EXPLORER window to open the context window then the Explorer process does crash.
Same does happen when I select a file in Explorer window and press STRG-C to copy the file - Explorer process does crash.

I downloaded and copied "ti_managers_proxy.dll" into respective directory and replaced existing .dll - as explained in this thread. But my problem is still there.

I'm using Windows XP SP3
Acronis 2013 Build 5551.

Hope this does explain my problem.

regards
Adi

Hi ADI,
I didn't have the problem of how you describe it so.
With me it was process “Com Surrrogate = dllhost.exe” that step by step freeze the entire CPU.
There was yet another correction.
This correction was on my system against to freeze successfully.
You can find this correction in the annex.
Installation + procedure in the same folder as “ti_managers_proxy.zip”.

Okieh,

tishell32.zip does not fix the Explorer crash either - at least not on my WinXP PC.

Thank you

Hi Adi,

it is sad that the fix of “tishell32.zip” in your case, does not apply.
Unfortunately I further no tips to offer.
This is a user forum and not the support!
Have you made even the direct way to the Acronis support?
That would be the correct way!
The people there, should actually have a solution or endeavor.
Just so it is really.
If the solution is known, here in the Forum report.

Good luck in the further search for a solution.
Greetings

Will there be an official patch? The first fix was 2 months ago.
WIth this patch my explorer does not hang andymore!
But without any ti_managers_proxy.dll it runs better because no dllhost or dtshellhlp.exe are be startet all the time

Maybe i bougth ATI2013 to early this week -.-

Hello ma.nI,
the two patches are for "true image 2013, build 5551".
The "build 5551" is still the current version today.
These patches have been named officially by „Oleg“, Acronis employees.
This patches should be installed, according to Oleg, in the next version update = a new build-number.

But if your problem is fixed, why your question is here?
Please read also the post of #59 and go that way if necessary.....
Greetings
