Acronis True Image only creating incremental backups

I have Acronis True Image running on two Macs, an iMac and a MacBook. Both use a WD MyCloud NAS on my local network (iMac is connected via hardwired Ethernet, the MacBook by wireless).
On the iMac, scheduled backups run every night with full backups every 6 or 7 days. Absolutely no problems.
On my MacBook, I only ever see incremental backups. For the last 12 nights, an incremental backup is created every time. No full backups. The MacBook backup file is about twice a large as the iMac backup (268 GB).
So my question: Why is Acronis creating incremental backups and never a full backup? And why does it work just fine on my iMac? Both are running the same OS (Catalina 10.15.4). I've also created a recovery disk for each, if that makes any difference.

I just set up a Synology NAS and want Acronis True Image for Mac to back up a specific folder to it. There is no incremental option. Do I understand from your previous answer that the first backup is Full and then after that all backups are Incremental? Even though there is no mention of this anywhere I can find? Second related question: After the first Full backup and Incremental backups begin can I modify the backup settings to change the number of backups and retention policy after I see how much space this one folder is consuming on the NAS? Thank you.

Hello GeneS,
thank you for your posting!

Yes, that's correct
> After the first Full backup and Incremental backups begin can I modify the backup settings to change the number of backups and retention policy after I see how much space this one folder is consuming on the NAS?
Yes, that is possible. By default, Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office stores 20 recent versions. When you create the twenty-first version, Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office automatically deletes the oldest version of the backup. You can set a different limit on the number of backup versions.
To configure cleanup settings
- In the Backup section, click the required backup, and then click Settings in the lower-right corner.
- Select the Cleanup tab and configure the cleanup settings.
